Good Afternoon Parents and Students!!
A new update for what is going on in our classrooms and in our sixth grade den is LONG over due. :) So below is some key information regarding the up coming week or two. It's great to be back!!
*Math Core 1 will be wrapping up and assessing Unit 8 - Ratios and Unit Rates this week.
*Math Core 2 will continue with Unit 9 - Measurement conversion and percent application this week and should be assess sometime next week.
*In science we have started a new unit called The Land Beneath Our Feet. Until the end of January we are looking at Earth's composition and the way we can help maintain it!
*Although I have done a poor job at sending them home, ISN's (Interactive Science Notebooks) should be send home every Friday to be signed by a parent/guardian. The students' ISN's should have all of the notes from that week in their ISN. These notes will be posted under "Science - Blog Notes". Please be sure to take a look at all they are learning!!
*Last Tuesday Mr. Carter and I send home a Technology Agreement. We have had some issues with the improper use of computers or the lack of care for the technology equipment. If you have not seen or signed your child's Technology Agreement please do so, as they cannot use the computers until the form is signed.
*Tomorrow, seeing as the weather allows, will be the Science Fair. Students participating should be ready to go set up by 8 a.m. Parents coming with students, be sure to check into the front office. IF there is a delay in out schedule tomorrow due to weather, the Science Fair will still take place. However, if all school activities are cancelled for tomorrow, the Science Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 21st.
*Report cards came out last Friday. If you have not seen your child's report card, ask them about it! :)
*Please be reminded of the missing work policy. Late work will still be graded but points will be deducted accordingly. If your child is absent they need to come ask for the makeup work. They can't get credit if they don't know what the work is. I am always willing to work with them! Notes are posted on this website.
*And lastly, this Friday will be our Quarter 2 Awards Ceremony, our Wolves of the Week, A/B Honor Students, Science Fair Projects, and many others will be awarded this Friday at 7:30 in the 6th Grade Den. Parents please come and join us. The whole ceremony is student led. It's fantastic!!
Thanks for all your help and support at home!!
